Conditions for the unarmed anti-Soviet resistance in Lithuania appeared in the 1950s. Due to the weakening of the almost 10 years-long partisan fight for freedom (1944–1953), the Lithuanians looked for new forms of resistance, i.e. the peaceful resistance, in which many young Lithuanians took part.
